Like many other people already stated, this book contains a high amount of errors. There is also one answer in the "Final Exam" on the back that has the wrong letter but the correct answer in the description. For an important test such as the PCAT, confronting errors in a study material can be frustrating and ultimately making you feel unprepared. I enjoyed the biology section as many other people have but once you get towards the end of the book, the errors just keeps on accumulating. This book dont cover as much Math as I wanted it to, so another Math source is needed. I still recommend getting this book and study it well ahead of time and then try to get other PCAT study materials in conjunction with this one.

This company did not do a good job mailing my purchase. It took 2.5 weeks to mail one book. I was very dissatisfied. When I called to check on my order I didn't get much help. I wouldn't order from them again.

 can be helpful, but BEWARE of errorsJun 25, 2010
I purchased this book because it is one of the few PCAT study guides on the market, and I needed to begin somewhere. It was helpful to focus my studying generally, give me a concise refresher on various topics, and point to areas I needed to review. HOWEVER, I was extremely disappointed and dissatified with the high number or errors in the text. In the chemistry and math sections, several of the problems were so full of errors that the problems could not be solved or the "correct" answers could not be trusted. It may be worth purchasing because it is one of the few study guides for this topic and gives fairly good summaries/reviews of important material; however, be a critical studier especially as you do the math and chemistry practice problems (particularly in the practice tests). In my opinion, Kaplan should be ashamed of themselves to have published a book of this quality: there is no excuse for a theta symbol to appear instead of an apostrophe when indicating a derivative or for the number four (4) to appear instead of a plus sign (presumably -- there's no way to tell for sure what should've been there).
Althoug some of the math and chemistry practice questions were a bit disappointing, I won't deny that the chapters reviewing science material and some of the other practice questions were helpful. The general chemistry review is fairly good, but the organic chemistry review leaves a lot to be desired. The biology review seemed fairly comprehensive, though a bit general. If you purchase it, use this study guide in conjunction with class notes, other study guides, and perhaps even an official practice test purchased from Pearson.

This book is okay to get started but definitely need more material to supplement your study. There are errors in the book such as typos and answers that are just plain wrong. I recall at least one question had a missing diagram. It would be great to have more test taking tips and also include multiple choices in all the questions to simulate the actual PCAT exam. I would get this book to begin your study but not solely rely on it.

I took the PCATs in January of 2010. This book is EXCELLENT for the biology section. There wasn't really anything on the test that it didn't cover. Unfortunately, it is not so great for the math or chemistry section at all. I HIGHLY recommend taking a prep class instead of solely relying on this or other books.
